Mirror Container Cocktail Bar

A mirrored cocktail bar supports summer evenings at Beerstrot, a restaurant housed in a historic brick farmhouse near Filottrano. Set against the existing façade, it faces fields of wheat and sunflowers, the setting sun and the town’s silhouette on the horizon.

Within this protected rural landscape, planning restrictions required the new structure to be completely absorbed into its surroundings. The answer was not to imitate the architecture of the farmhouse, but to make the container visually disappear. Its exterior is entirely clad in mirrors, while a planted roof conceals the upper surface, softens its presence and helps temper the internal climate.

Mirrors are a recurring element in the studio’s design language: used to bring light and a sense of luxury into a space, but also to unsettle perception and produce unexpected visual effects. Here, their role becomes architectural. Brick, sky, crops and distant hills move across the reflective surfaces, breaking down the container’s solid outline until the volume appears to dissolve into the landscape.

As evening falls, the bar captures the restaurant’s defining view and returns it from multiple angles. Sunsets are doubled; the skyline is fragmented and recomposed; diners find themselves inside the panorama they came to admire. What began as a practical structure supporting the restaurant’s summer service has become its most magnetic feature: a natural gathering point and an irresistible setting for photographs, poised between architecture, reflection and landscape.
